1. Purpose
These terms govern the use of the Dicto.be service, a voice dictation and instant translation
application for Windows.
2. Service Description
Dicto.be is a desktop application that:
- Converts speech to text via voice recognition
- Automatically corrects grammar and punctuation using artificial intelligence
- Translates text between French, Dutch, English, and German
- Injects the text into the user's active application
3. Registration and Account
- Registration is free and requires a valid email address and a password.
- You are responsible for keeping your password confidential.
- One account per person. Creating multiple accounts to circumvent quotas is prohibited.
- We reserve the right to suspend or delete an account in case of abuse.

- The word counter resets on the 1st of each month.
- Paid plans are billed monthly. (Online payment coming soon.)
- Prices may be changed with 30 days' notice.
5. Acceptable Use
The following is prohibited:
- Using the service for illegal purposes
- Attempting to circumvent quota limits or security measures
- Sending audio content containing hateful, threatening, or illegal speech
- Using the service for spam or automated mass sending
- Reverse engineering the software or API
6. Intellectual Property
- Dicto.be and its source code are the property of the publisher.
- Transcribed and translated text belongs entirely to you. We claim no rights over your content.
- The application uses open source technologies (Whisper, faster-whisper) and third-party APIs (Groq).
7. Service Availability
- The service is provided "as is" without guarantee of permanent availability.
- Interruptions may occur for maintenance or updates.
- We strive to maintain maximum availability but do not guarantee a specific uptime rate.
8. Limitation of Liability
- Dicto.be cannot be held liable for transcription or translation errors.
- Transcription and translation are automatic suggestions and must be verified by the user.
- Dicto.be cannot be held liable for indirect damages related to the use of the service.
- In any event, Dicto.be's total liability is limited to the amount paid by the user over the past 12 months.
9. Termination
- You may delete your account at any time from the application (Account section).
- Deletion is effective immediately and irreversible.
- In case of abuse, we may suspend or delete your account without notice.
10. Governing Law
These terms are governed by Belgian law. Any dispute shall be submitted to the competent courts
of Brussels, Belgium.
11. Changes
We reserve the right to modify these terms. Users will be notified by email in case of
substantial changes. Continued use of the service after notification constitutes acceptance
of the new terms.
